Coon Hunting Lights

I am in the market for a new coon light. I currently have a battery terminal belt light. 21 volt. It has served its purpose very well. It was a good starter light. It has functioned well with no probs. I am passing it over to my wife, and looking at some other lights. Any advice?

Andy, a new LED Lite from K-Lite will exceed your expectations and is a very awesome light. We hunt with 4 of them. You don't need a spotlite when you use the K-Lite. It has a flood and a very good spot.

We find all our coons with a K9L from K-Lite @ http://shop.kelleysk-lightsupply.com/

Check out Bayou lights! They are made by the original Cajun light owner! The new Led lights are pretty nice though, only question is can they hold up very long?

Give Hank Purvis at Purvis Outdoors a call. I have been using his light for several years and they hold up good. I hunt in the swamps of southeastern NC and my light gets wet at least 2 times a week if not more and it holds up to all the wear and tear I put it thru. The Purvis Outdoors light also comes with a 5 year warranty and Hank also has a loner light program where he will send you a light to use while your light is being repaired. I have had Bright Eyes, Cajun, Raw Dawg and Blazer lights and the Purvis Outdoors light is the best light that I have ever had. If interested you can reach Purvis Outdoors at 910-385-6177.

get ya a Bobcat Light, the best and most reliable i have used, tried moonshiner, battery died after jus a short time of using high side, had 2 coonbuster's, alright lights jus heavy and not very bright. i can easily hunt 4 6-7 hours, and not be able to tell the difference in battery drain.

Give Bob a call at 918-822-8888

He also makes L.E.D. bulbs, no need in buying a whole new head, when you can use the 1 you got, jus pop in the L.E.D bulb, burn time doubles, bulbs don't get as hot. very good.

Lot of good lights out there. I would go to a hunt and look at them side by side in a tree then each by it self on a tree. That will tell you what you need to know. Figure out what kind then worry about the brand. I carry a 28 volt nite lite belt light. Love it except the dimmer switch turns to easy an when your coat rubs it your light goes brighter or dimmer.
When you shine a tree you can light up the whole thing though. You don't have to shine each limb.

coon light

Thanks for all the responses. I was a beginner on this forum last week. I am very grateful for all the responses, and the advice. It will all be considered and I will try to make a balanced decision. Thanks again for making me welcome on the boards. There's nothing better than coon hunting, and enjoying it with others that enjoy it as well.

"BLAZER GETS MY VOTE"

Sir , I just recently sent my Wicklight into Blazer to have it repaired after 8-10 yrs of use. The wick light was made by Blazer. In the shipping from the post office it was damaged very badly, Blazer went through the hassle of taking the light back and forth to the post office and e-mailed me pictures and helped me sort out the insuance claim. To make a long story short they went way above and beyond any customer service anyone could have asked for. They will from now on get any light business I or my friends have. GREAT PRODUCT AND GOOD PEOPLE !

Does anyone really make a "bad" light? I mean...it's a battery, with a cord that has a bulb on the end, and an on/off switch lol If a company cant master making a pretty reliable light I'd say the company is run by a bunch of A$$ Hats!

bad lights

I kinda understand the principle behind how a coon light works considering I have a bachelors degree in chemical engineering there buddy! I was wondering which lights people had the best longevity out of. Also if there were any new technologies out there that I had not seen yet. Thanks for the help and advice. It doesn't matter what light you pack in the woods if the dogs don't put em up!
