I have seen a few threads talking about taking dogs across the border and paperwork changes. For those that are going, should they be contacting someone to find out what this weeks rules are?

I would call the crossing you are planning on using or do an internet search for regulations for taking dogs from the US into Canada and vise-versa. I've never done it so I can't give you any help at all. Best to do your homework before you're sitting at the gate wondering what you need.

I haven't been in a while but in the past the dogs just required a current Rabies certificate . Biggest change was you yourself now need a passport or something similar for identification to cross the border . I was told at AO's that the hunt is still located at Harrison Park in Owen Sound . Apparently the ad reads a little funny this year . I always loved the place and the event , just not on the road as much lately . Rumors and uncertainty about the border crossing has I believe hurt participation from the US side .

I just got off the phone with the President of the Grey Bruce Nite Hunters and the hunt will be held at Harrison Park in Owen Sound, ON just the same as it has been for the last 52 years. The ad is updated on our website.

If you are comming remember a couple things. Passport, rabies certificate for dog, and never, never, tell them you ar going to a hunt, dont even mention hunt or they will tear you apart looking for a gun. Tell them you are going to a dog show or field trial.

Nice job with the update Paul .
The park can be a little tricky to find if you get running late and it's easy to do since the speed limits are a bit lower over there plus no expressway running right to it .

A good GPS address would help .

Dale,

This is what I found when I googled Harrison Park in Owen Sound:

75 2nd Ave E Owen Sound, ON N4K 5T2, Canada

I have no idea if this is correct or if it will work in your GPS but it is what I have.

Good luck to everyone this weekend!!

did anyone have any issues with crossing the border with their dogs?

I found this link on another email list that shows the requirements for entering the country with dogs: http://inspection.gc.ca/animals/ter...9/1331876307796

its from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency
