performanced litter?

If you breed to a performance sire all you need to do is pay the pup you buy up in the program correct? i heard something new that the litter has to be nominated then you pay the pup up? I'm no dog breeder so I haven't registered to many litters.

Litter Nomination
Once a female whelps a litter sired by a Performance Nominated Sire, the breeder, the litter registrant/owner, or any other individual, may nominate the litter for the Performance Program by paying the appropriate Litter Nomination fee in accordance with the Litter Nomination Fee Schedule listed below. The litter must be UKC registered in order to nominate the litter. Once the litter is registered and nominated one Application for Permanent Nomination for each puppy in the litter will be mailed to the litter owner. The litter must be registered and nominated before the litter turns one year of age.

Litters cannot be nominated while their sire is pending DNA. The actual DNA profile must be completed and on record at UKC before any Litter Nomination fees will be accepted. The dam is NOT required to be DNA profiled, but it is highly recommended.

Litter Nomination and Permanent Nominations at the time of Litter Registration

Litter Nomination and Permanent Nominations of all pups in an eligible litter may be requested at the same time you submit the Litter Registration Application. The pups are not required to be permanently registered at this time but they will need to be permanently registered before they may compete in any UKC events for Performance Points.

For a fee of $150 the breeder, litter registrant/owner, or any other individual may Litter Nominate and Permanently Nominate all the pups in the litter for the Performance Program. The litter application must be postmarked on or before the litter turns six months of age. The pups do not have to be permanently registered at this time but they will need to be permanently registered before they may compete in any UKC events for Performance Points. The litter owner will be supplied with one Application for Permanent Registration for each pup in the litter which will reflect that the Permanent Nomination Status has been paid up.

UKC reserves the right to deny any Litter Nomination if the nomination fee submitted is less than the amount due in accordance with the Litter Nomination Fee Schedule listed below. Individuals who submit a Litter Nomination with insufficient payment will be notified by mail. If the payment is postmarked on or before the pups turn six months of age, the Litter Nomination will take effect as of the date that it was originally received. If the additional fee is postmarked after the pups turn six months of age, the Litter Nomination Fee will increase according to the Litter Nomination Fee Schedule listed below. If the additional fee is postmarked on or before the pups turn one year of age the Litter Nomination will take effect as of the date that it was originally received. If the additional fee is not postmarked on or before the pups turn one year of age, the nomination and all fees already paid toward the Litter Nomination will be forfeited.

Litter Nomination Deadlines and Fee Schedule

· If the Litter Nomination is postmarked on or before the litter is six months of age, the Litter Nomination fee is $30.
· If the Litter Nomination is postmarked after the litter is six months of age, but on or before the litter turns one year of age, the Litter Nomination fee is $50.
· Litter Nomination with all pups being Permanently Nominated at time of Litter Registration is $150. Application must be postmarked on or before the litter turns six months of age.

Trevor,

There is a fee to Litter Nominate any litter. Before the pups are 6 months old the littler nomination fee is $30. It is then $30 per pup to Permanently Nominate the pups before they are 6 months old.

New this year, you can litter nominate and permanently nominate every pup in the litter for $150. This has to be done at the time of registration (when you send your Litter App in) and you do not have to permanently register the pups to do it. Basically, if you have more than 4 pups you end up saving quite a bit in the long run and you do not have to worry about if the pup owners will go ahead and pay up their pups.

If you can think of anything else you can check out the Performance Program link here: http://www.ukcdogs.com/Web.nsf/WebP...boutPerformance

No that means it can earn Performance Points at UKC Events. To make a dog a Performance Sire it is a different fee and the dog must be DNA profiled.

Yeah, clear as mud. Be careful because it can get very confusing. Does this mean that it costs $30 to litter nominate the pup and then another $30 to permenately nominate the pup? This is in addition to the $25 to permantely register a pup. So it costs $85 to permenately register and performance each pup?

No KR,

It is $30 to nominate a litter no matter how many pups.

Then it is $30 per pup to permanently nominate the pup before 6 months of age.

The permanent registration fee is a separate fee and totally apart from the Performance Program. The PP money goes into the fund and is distributed at the end of the year among those who won performance points.

Most of the fees and the dates for the Performance Program were changed on the first of January, 2013. The end goal is to ensure a higher total in the fund at the end of the year so pup/stud/dam owners receive more in the way of payout.

One pup 60$ two pups 90$ three pups 120$ four pups 150$ that's just to permanently nominate the pup/pups and register the litter before they are six months old. So if you've got five or more pups the 150 will save you money. But then you have to permanently register any pups you keep at I believe 25$ each.

30$ to register the litter no matter if its one pup or fifty pups
30$ to permanently nominate each pup

I hope this is correct I've got a litter due any day. So this post was
Pretty timely.

Thanks

Lol. That's only if you want to go ahead and pay the litter up in the performance program.

I let the new owners of the pup decide if they wanted too or not. Then its only 60 $ I believe.

If you do it that way it is only $50.

$20 for litter registration (to get puppy papers on how ever many pups you have)

$30 to Litter Nominate

If you want to litter register, litter nominate, and permanetly nominate every pup in the litter it is $170.

$150 to litter nom and perm nom every pup

$20 for litter registration

The good thing about paying for the entire litter to be permanently nominated is that you don't have to worry about if someone will pay their pup up. Maybe they are just a pleasure hunter who doesn't think they need it. What happens in 2-3 years if they sell the pup and someone decides to competition hunt it? The pup can't be paid up so now the pup owners and you, the dam or sire owner, get no return from the Performance Program. If the pup is permanently nominated, it stays with the dogs for their life.

I don't think that it is "a bunch of crap". It is a lot better than no program at all. But it could be less confusing. I always thought that you just sent the money in and your pups were performanced. Boy was I wrong. I have a litter of pups that are almost 5 mos old and they still aren't Permanately Performanced. You send in the money and 5 weeks later they send it back. You jump thru some hoops and send it back in and 6 weeks later they send it back. Then you send it in again and maybe by the time the pups are 6 mos old, you get them Performanced. If not, then you have to send in some more money. One of the problems is that it takes 6 weeks from when you first send the money to find out that you did it wrong and then another 6 weeks before they get to your app again. 3-4 mos can go by before you find out that you still have a problem. If the pups are 8 weeks or 2 mos old before you start, then they can be 6 mos old before they ever get it straightened out.

I dont understand why on any reg papers (perf or not) you give an email address but they still snail mail a letter, esp if there is a problem. use the email, that's what its there for.
