There are several past reviews on here; from what i have read on these reviews they perform well, with similar if not very slightly better range than the Garmin. Alot of the reviews mentioned it was nice to only have to use one collar to shock and track, but that has now been answered by the garmin astro which has the same feature.
The one overwhelming issue that lead most purchasers to the Garmin over the Sportdog is that the Garmin is map card ready and maps are important, especially when dogs get out of pocket or when hunting new/unfamiliar territory. The Tek says my dog is 800yds from me, the garmin says my dog is 800 yds from me and shows me proximity to roads and landmarks like creeks and churches.
