I had to put her down today. She had cancer in her belly. Found out week and a half ago Vet said was surprised she was doing so good. I took the time and hunted her for a few nights she treed 8 coon in two nights but last night after hunting her I had to carry her back to the kennel and didnt think she would make threw the night. But got home to take her in and she was waiting on me. Bit said better to do it now than wait till she got down!

I had the honor of hunting with Buckeye 100's of times. She was one of the best if any breed I ever got to follow in 45 years of hunting. Damon even trusted me to take her to Bluetick Days a few years ago to try to get her finished to Grand Nite. The Bluetick Breed lost one if the finest females ever to tree a coon. She will be sorely missed, especially when the going gets tough.
So sorry, Damon. I feel for you buddy.

It sounds as though Buckeye gave her all right up to the very end. The good ones never seem to live long enough but I'm sure she has earned a special place in your memories.
