How many of yal have ran coon and a dog end up running into it and getting ruined , a good friend of mine had his plott dog ruin because of it . Never ran again , it would actually whine when it smelled a coon after that.

It's a real common thing here in central ky, had several dogs get in them, it may have startled them a few times but its never ruined one, but every dog is different . I try to avoid them, mainly for my sake lol seems they are everywhere these days.

Never had a dog ruined by one, but I was stepping over one one night and misjudged the height and it was higher then I thought. Almost ruined me! LMAO!

They're as common as flys here, dogs hit them all the time, they may bark once or twice, but no big deal They all get over it, and get with the program, sure never "ruined" one because of hittin a hot wire. Tom

Had one get lit up on one. She was done for the night. Heard her scream out. Found her back at the truck in the dog box.

I would imagine it depends on the dog, some dogs take a shock better then others

Plenty in Iowa

I had a young female get hit running a released coon, and she was hot on it... Never ran one again, and her littermate brother got deep a couple weeks ago and got shocked. It didn't ruin him, but he sure doesn't fire out the same as he did. Been working him through it.
