Can I fix this?

Every time I take her out hunting and she gets out there pretty far and I call her back she won't listen at all so I have to walk to her and once I get about 40-50 yards from her and call for her she will take off again. I'm getting pretty darn tired of this. And before any one asks I don't have a shock collar and I'm not gonna buy one I can't afford one at the moment. If anyone had any advice Id really appreciate it

Peanut butter crackers

Those ones that come in the smaller package (6 per package). Keep some of these in the truck. When she does come in, give her a couple of these. Be careful though, once she gets on to these, if she hears the wrapper noise from one of these, she will come in before you want her to. HAHA. Seriously.

really

if you can get within forty yards buy a cheap pheasent dog shock collar they are like forty bucks that or use a friends and then get a dummy collar otherwise your going to have to spend time obediance training. i would also say if your goin to feed it for comming to you good luck treein coon. Pretty soon you will have a pet that wont leave your side.

If you have never used one before you have to be really carefull. You should start off in a fenced yard with a long rope. Call her to you by pulling on the rope. If she don't come shock her while pulling tap it on the lowest setting going higher only if you have too.. Some dogs will go nutts if they have never been shocked before....After shes coming to you really good you can take off the rope in the fenced yard. You should pet her up and give her a treat if you want to...You don't want to shock a dog for every little thing they do wrong. Work on one problem at a time..

In all honesty i dislike shockers just because there's other ways to work with them but everyone one told me that it's teach her faster but I'm gonna try the rope and fence yard truck first

E-collars are a wonderful tool, but use it correctly!!! You don't use a chain saw to cut wood to make book ends do you?

An e-collar is the same as a chain saw. It is a tool. There is a right way and a wrong way to using any tool.

A dog should be properly conditioned to an e-collar before you use it to teach correction issues. You don't have to use such a high setting for such a simple task as teaching to come. In fact, i would use the check cord first before using the e-collar. Then follow up with the e-collar after the dog has mastered the check cord. After the dog masters the e-collar switch from stimulation to tone.
