Utv's

I'm thinking about getting one and wondered what you liked and disliked about yours.

I have a mule and love it. My buddy had a ranger it was ok just a lot louder..We also hunt off quads and 3 wheelers. We have a trailer we can pull to haul the dogs...When getting a UTV just make sure the bed is big enough to haul a dog box..Most of them need a box made to fit..The older ones have a bigger bed than the new ones...

If you want one for working with pulling power and also goes good in snow but would be heavy and not good in deep mud and sloughs but the kubota rtv is a tank 3 cal diesel and it will jerk any two of the others backwards shaft drive etc...and will go 30 nights on 5 gal of diesel fuel but as I said if you have good trails, pipeline etc,,, it is great any deep mud or sloughs it would propably leave you at the first one!!! Lol

Polaris sportsman 6x6 its only a single seat with a dump box but buddy's sit on the front rack all the time I have 2 a 2004 500 and a 2011 800 both are great machines and will go places the rest can't ! i haul 2 dogs in wire kennel or 3 on back after some training there narrow and don't take a football field to turn around and are 6 wheel drive ! the 800 is rough on gas but really big on power both machines have high and low range with plenty of power to spare new ones are in the 10 thousand range I have seen good used ones in the 4 to 6 thousand range there out there but are hard to find I bought both from Polaris dealer he had to find them each time both were used with 50 miles each the 04 in 05 was 8600 loaded winch snowplow rear chains the 11 in 12 9500 stock machine. new was not important to me ! saving me some bucks and that was delivered to my door both times and i use these on my farm I burn a pickup load of wood a day in the winter and these machines go get it and do so much more rake hay, culitpack ,pick rock, hall hay, build fence, mow lawn but my favorite is they go coonhunting saving me many steps each time why walk when you can ride !

Thanks for the input. One thing I was concerned about was size. Some I have looked at we're dang near the size of a small truck, and I just wonder how easy they are to maneuver and if I did get stuck how hard it would beto get it out.

I hunt off my buddie Polaris Ranger sometimes and it is great. Got a small truck box that fits perfect in the bed. I have a Honda Rancher ATV and while not as nice, I don't have to stop at the tree line. All those UTV's are to big to go through the woods, unless you don't give a dang about what gets tore off.

Kawasawki Mule Trans 4010 seats six with fron and rear seat. 4x4 love it saves a lot of steps and you can get to a young dog faster. All around great vehicle....

i have the polaris ranger mid-size, snakes through the woods pretty good where its flat enough to drive. i live in bluff country NE iowa so no matter how you look at it, your gonna be walking up hill at one time or another. dog stands in the back of the box and will strike going down the road. saves alot of walking even in the hills.

8x8 can haul plenty, all depends on the size of the box.

new one about 20,000.00, they do turn like a skid steer. they will turn 180 on a dime. easy to maneuver in a lot of trees and will climb over logs. the 8x8 are a little smoother rideing then the 6x6, don't feel the bumps as bad.

I love my Gator

For me, it is just the right size. A small truck dog box will fit in the back, though I made my own because I like for the dogs to have something to jump on before diving in the box. My neighbor has a big Polaris and I know I could not maneuver it where I go with my Gator. I kind of like the smaller Polaris', but then the bed is not very big. May not be as fast, but 30 mph is fast enough for me. I replaced the front tires with Mud Cats and will put on the rears come harvest time.

Mule, the long eared kind. The ultimate atv . Up, down, through, over, under, across, or around. All while carrying me and half of everything I own, and leading dogs tied to breaching .
