Wow! Just finished reading your story on the history of the ACHA World Hunt and I will need to read it again just to digest it all but really, what a great article. So much history of the Walker breed right there in that story. I was 8 years old in the early 60's and the arrival of Full Cry was the biggest day of the month in our house. I wish I had kept all those old issues. The crosses made back in those days based on the World Hunt wins was especially interesting. Thank you for a great article.

Don is one of the most knowledgeable breeders in the world of coondogs. I read every article he used to write on breeding. I patterned my breeding program around a lot of what he wrote about. At the same time I was experimenting and finding out through trial and error what Don was writing as the real truth about breeding hounds.
He is a wealth of information. Super nice guy.

Don is one class act.
His website is THE BEST website on the Treeing Walker History. If you truly want to know about the history of the breed, I encourage you to spend some time on his website.
History isn't 10-20 years old. Don takes it back to nearly the beginning to the early 1950's.
I have learned more about the breed over the past 5 or 6 years than I ever knew in the past 30 years.
