Ordering vaccines online

What site has good vaccines and needles? What brand vaccines do you use? We usually buy from a local co-op but they won't be carrying vaccines anymore.

I would be real careful about ordering vaccines online. I just bought an entire tray (25 doses) of seven way vaccines. They came in a styrofoam cooler with a soft sided cooler inside it and packed with ice packs. When I opened it the ice packs where melted but there was also a note on the receiot from the company that said it is normal for the ice packs to be melted and that the vaccines would still be viable. Well I had two litters of nice healthy 6 week old puppies and within 7-10 days of vaccinating them they started dropping like flies from parvo. We managed to save a few of them but those vet bills sure add up quick. Not sure what went wrong but I do know I will never order vaccines off the internet again.

That's what I was afraid of. It doesn't seem like a great idea to trust normal mail. I was hoping there's a good site that guarantees their vaccines. I may try finding another co-op further away that might allow us to order over the phone and ship it to us.

I order from Jeffers and haven't had any problems. I got an extra ice pack with the vaccines.

I have ordered them for years that's how vets get them. A few days is not long enough to develop immunity. Always give the female a booster when you breed her. JMO

You really shouldn't give a 6 week puppy a 7 way, use a 5way. I've lost pups from shots to its not a good feeling.

Just went down stairs and looked at the shots I have left in my fridge. I mispoke when I said seven way, they are a five way not a seven. I ordered them from Jeffers. They are Boehringer Ingleheim Solo-Jec 5 plus. Not exactly a fly by night brand vaccine or supply company either.

So far I have lost six puppies and every single pup I have except one has gotten sick. Fortunately every pup I have left is on the road to recovery and I am watching that last pup that hasn't got sick yet like a hawk. My vet set me up with a couple IV bags that have 100cc's of dextrose added to them as well as antibiotics. I have been constantly checking puppies and tugging on their skin and checking their gums several times a day checking for the first sign of dehydration. At the very first sign of dehydration, loose stool, or even if a pup just doesn't seem as perky as normal I start administering antibiotics and giving subcutaneos IV fluid injections. Seems like the pups conditions either stabilize within a few hours then begin to turn around within a 12 hours or they whither and die very quickly. If their condition continues to go down hill after I begin treatment I take them to the vet. My kennels have been disinffected on a daily basis. After the first pup got sick I have been on these pups like white on rice. This whole thing is unbelievably frustrating! I also have a pup that came from someone elses kennel and had been vaccinated by that breeder at six weeks old, I got the pup at seven weeks old and gave it a second vaccine at 8 weeks old from the same batch of vaccines as I gave my pups. He also got sick and has been touch and go and at the vet for the past five or six days.

Jeffers

Thats where we order from. We had the same note in our cooler. We have never had a problems with their Distemper Shots over many years. We ordered Duramune Max 5-CvK "The Puppushot" & a box of 100 needles. You can call them 1-800JEFFERS (533-3377) or www.JeffersPet.com and they will answer all your questions & help with the type of shots & needles you need and any specific shipping/handling you need. I make sure I'm home on delivery day so they don't sit outside. It's hot here in South Georgia.
