Houston We Have A Problem !!!!!!!!!!!

Fellas,I have 3 pups 10 and 11 mnths old outta HAMMER.
1 female,1 male,Then i jave a male outta BATMAN and Molly.

All 3 are coming on strong.I been hunting.almost every night.
I been keeping them in the woods.Hunting 1 one night and another the next night.

Here is my probem: These pups are gonna be a major part of my breeding program. It would be.much easier to sale em all but one.

I like em all 3 and dont wanna sale any of the 3.

If i sale.em,dont have a clue what anyone would do with em.
Most do nothing with em.And i woul lose my breeding rights for further use.

Caught between a rock and hard place. I dont know what yo do.
In the meen time,im keeping em in the woods. Bear is getting stronger and wild ,gotta work on hos handling. He is a bull.
Drama, just an all around pleasure. Two Time Batman has a huge mouthand a lot of fun. This is my breeding program. I dont wanna let my hard work get away from me.Basically i dont know what the hell im gonna do. Lol

If you are so sure they are brood material already , just throw them in a pen and breed them ... not culling dogs that aren't worth breeding gets the same results as breeding dogs that haven't even been hunting ... both are destined to be bred no matter what.

You live within driving distance of some of the top B&T studs in the nation ... and now have three studs of your own just as good ?

That's why dogs like Rocket Fuel get overlooked ... you can enroll your male in the Performance Program and have yourself a stud overnight .

Todd it would be nice if we all had your problems! You sellin half or just lookin for someone to hunt them and carry them to hunts? I think I know which one your keepin. You talk about IT a little more I've noticed...

Justin why would you go ahead and breed them? Why not push them and get a name for them then breed them?

There's no difference in a dog that's hunted , but not breeding material ..and gets bred vs. a dog that aint hunted and is bred.

In regards to breeding.... and just as bad as brood bitches are , we have more of a problem with folks thinking a male dog that can tree a coon should be a stud dog ... the Performance Program really brought that to light.

Todd has three males in his breeding program ... that's more than some come across in a lifetime ..

Dirt devil
How would you know they are not good reproduces if you never breed them? Just because a dog doesn't have a bunch of letters in front of there name don't mean they can't be a top hound. I have hunted with grade dogs that would blow your socks off. But they aren't eligible. It takes alot of money and time to get those letters. I'm in it for the best dogs I can produce and have some fun doing it. I never overlook a dog that could reproduce just because its missing a few letters. If all some of you guys are interested is letters go back to kindergarten they let you play with letters all day. If you want coon dogs just stick around and I'm sure we can show you some b&t coondogs.

Do you see where I wrote anything about a dog needing titles before breeding it before going off on your rant about kindergarden and letters ? Or did you just make it up and then argue against what you made up ?

I firmly believe that if you want to know what's deep down in a dog and if they have the genetics to produce ... you can put a few seasons on them in harsh terrain and in harsh elements and you will see the truth ... not many dogs are as passionate about hunting and staying accurate at five as they were at two.

Dirtdevil I assume when your saying hunted you mean night hunts. Especially when you bring up the performance program. If I miss understood I apolagize for aiming that at you but I know it applies to some.

Justin, these dogs are my pride and joy. These crosses were
made for myself and my program. The last thing i wanna do is let thrm get away frim me.Anf i sure aint wanting 3 Stud dogs.I just dont wanna let my harf work get away from me. My female DRAMA,has HAMMER,MOLLY AND LUCY all in one hound. My male outta HAMMER and Veronica is the slickest hound on my place and is a carbon copy of HAMMER. He ckicks em off on the tree,im crazy about him also. Then ya got TWO TIME BATMAN,all i can say,is what a mouth and a strike dog, with a huge locate, plus he is a direct son of MOLLY and just loaded with TWO TIME ,NUTE AND BATMAN.
Titkesband wins are on the agenfa real soon,as far as any breeding, thats way down the line.

Chris Sims, dont you worry,I have planned on it for a while.
One of my females will be bred to BO in the future. Sooon

Ive hunted with a bunch of dogs in our breed. I think your hound has been way overlooked in our breed. Bo impressed me as much as any dog ive seen. You have a super nice hound in my book.I also think it will work good on my dogs. With OX and Albert in his ped.Bet it works.

Hunting a dog a two yrs or five yrs doesn't mean thing about producing. All that tells you is you have a coon dog or not. The best coon dog I ever owned was as good at 7 yrs old as he was when he was 3 yrs olds and he never produced a thing. Just didn't pass on his likeness. JMO but I firmly believe that.

Some dogs produce some don't. Some are coondogs most are not.

I didn't say just hunting ... it's a philosophy that bulldoggers , terriermen and some gundog guys know well ... and it's that most folks don't want to know what they REALLY have ... the guys the know how to push a dog in the woods , know better what it will throw in the brood pen.

Knowing the difference between a hunting dog and stud dog before you raise and sell pups .. is what the difference is between real breeders and dog raisers ... not that anyone can tell what the next big thing is ... that's more about people than dogs , but coonhunters are in the dark compared other older and more educated dog breeders.

Todd I would try to find some young boys around town that is looking for a dog to hunt and let them hunt the hair off of them. That's what I'm going to do when I get some things straightened out here at home and get back to hunting. You put pups like that in a young mans hands they'll hunt them dogs every night of the week. And you have the places to let a young fellor hunt in if he don't. That's what I would do and I'd split ownership with them to.

Fellas, I have no idea how we got on the subject of breeding dogs.
This post is about what the heck im gonna do in the best interest
of the pups and being able to retain at least part ownership, just for the purpose of keeping my stock and not letting it get away.

They will only stay as my stock ,if they make the grade, but i gotta hold on to em to find out down the road.Even a thoughtof breeding any of them ,is way way way down the road.

Ain't got no opinion, just a question!! Can I borrow a coondog!! I sure could use somethang real nice.A man shouldn't have as many barnburners as you got Todd!!! Just ain't right!! Lol

All seriousness tho, that bear pup wouldn't leave my sight if he's doing what you claim, he's a good looking pup!!

Good luck with them
