I have been using them for 6 months. Everyone says get the purple ones, but I couldn't find purple so I got the orange with the insect repellant. The dogs aren't as bad on fleas this year as they were last, but it's wetter and cooler. We had a horrible time with sand fleas last year.

I do have to say that I haven't seen any improvement on ticks. I even tried bumping it up with some apple cider vinegar mix and it did nothing for them. I was pulling up to 10 off a night. I started putting about a capful of bleach per gallon of water once a week in their bowls and it seemed to fix it. Not enough to hurt them, just enough to make it smell a little like pool water at the hotel. About the same stuff they use, and it doesn't make the dogs sick.

The purple tags work pretty good for ticks and biting flies, but will not help with the fleas.

i've been using them for a while. i don't have any fleas. i brought my friends dogs over to stay a while. i put the tags on his dogs collars in the spring and i saw that his dogs have fleas, not many but still they're there. maybe if you dont have them you won't get them with the tags but if you do have them,. you'll still have them with the tags.
