Anybody had this happen????????

Got a dog that is 4 yrs old super nice hound and had won many hunts.... Went hunting one night and he came back to the truck acting all scared... Now he will not go hunting at all... Absolutely will not leave the truck and is scared to death... Has anybody ever had this happen and did the dog ever come out of it... Any advice is much appreciated

Something scared him pretty good, heard of yotes scaring dogs. You'll probably never know what really happened. But my advice is ease him back into hunting. I would take him out during the day and just play in the woods then after he acts ok I would take him out at dusk a few times then just leave him out there when it gets dark, he should be good to go. Good luck with him.

Happened once to a young dog I was hunting. He came out of it just fine. Had to go back to hunting him with another dog for a few weeks.

Same thing here. Hunted him with another dog. He came out of it just fine. Infact he just won american redbone days.

I have turned him loose with another dog and it didn't matter.... I live in south ga with all types off critters bears, snakes, hogs, and alligator...I don't know what to do but just lay him up then ease him back into it... This was a super nice dog who got in at the superstAkes twice and the finals of a pro hunt... Hope he comes out of it
