Some rechargeable's hold their shelf life and some don't .
Check to see what it says when buying . If your using them every night it doesn't make much difference but if you skip a few days you don't have a full charge or even dead when you start out . The ones that hold their charge longer are a little more user friendly .

.

I am going to share this with you and I know I will get a lot of people tell me it's nuts. Technically I agree with you but I have seen it several time and know there is a problem somewhere.
First and most important is to tell your astro in the setup function which battery your using.
Now to lithium batteries I have had many customers bring their Astros to me or call on the phone with them doing some very strange stuff. I generally didn't zero in on the batteries but lithium batteries were the problem most of the time. Especially if you didn't tell the astro you had them in it.

I've been using the same four Energizer rechargeable batteries for over a year now with no problems. Just pop them in the charger when I charge my collars and ready to go. Done saved me alot of $$$$$$.
