Garmin has no range...

I have an original 220 with one DC 30 with the long range antenna and a DC 40 with the long range antenna. I am only getting about 250-300 yards average......any suggestions??

garmin

1 update hand held and collars threw the garmin website.
2 delete all "tracks" out.
3 install long range ant. on hand held and collars.
4 delete collars out of hand held, then re-load them back into hand held.

if none work......
send back to garmin
