Family history

Have any of you studied out your family history? If so, what did you use to help you? I'm starting to go back through some history and wondering where to start. Good news is there are a few dedicated family members who have started the research already.

Ha ha Mark, you're probably right! I did find a website last night dedicated to Moultrie county history with some pretty interesting information and old pictures. I also put a post on Facebook about it and there are a couple family historians who are going to send me some stuff. I'm going to try the ancestory website and see what I come up with.

ancestry.com is wonderful. also if you get stuck, try the message boards on either ancestry.com or rootsweb.com. you can also try some public library sites (some have genealogy things, some don't). look for your state and county on usgenweb.org - each county is done by volunteers so some are great, others not so great. also familysearch.org is the huge genealogy library in Salt Lake City. or Allen County, Indiana library has the second largest genealogy room in the country. and one last place, findagrave.com - sometimes people have added obits to the memorials.

have fun - but be warned, it can be addicting
