What if you did this?

With the Garman what if we put a callor on a released coon with a 5 minute head start turn the dogs on him. How fast will he go what running patern would he take? How close to right on the track does that dog really run?

.

I think that is interesting and I also think you will find the dogs will be treed with a coon a lot of times, but not the one with the collar.
We have never tested the accuracy of our hounds between point A (striking) and point B (The tree) They strike a coon and then they tree a coon. We don't have a clue if it is the one they struck?

Since we are getting more and more automatic point A dogs (strike). You could learn a lot about the dog by doing that.

How many people have woke up to fact some of their dogs run the other dogs more than they ever imagined since the Garmins have been out.

automatic

Don't really know about dog tracking but people need to wake up to all the babbling going on in the sport today. What is wrong with second or third strke as long as it is a honest strike dog that beat u out for the first strike!!!!!!!

Be careful putting that Alpha Garmin on the coon. It may turn into a 'babbling idiot' or a top notch 'me too' coon!

I can put a collar on it. 5 min ain't near enough of a head start. Need to be more like 20. Plus if you do it need to catch a Coon from that area. Not bring another in. They want know where to go. Also if somebody wants to supply a collar. I'll do it. You might get it back and you might not. Its a test

Put a collar on it and let it go.. If you have the GPS receiver and cant find the collar you might have another problem.

I heard once, some people trapped a boar coon for their pup to tree it. So they turned it loose, pup struck and treed. shot the coon out to pup and it was a SOW:-\

..

Method for putting collar on a coon is to use "starting fluid" "either" to calm it down first. Just don't smoke while your doing it.

Lots of dog tracking because too many young pups that can't keep up are put in casts and hunted with/against older seasoned dogs...
