Calling interference?

So last night my dog gets treed by the river. He's blowing the top out sounding really NICE. Then he shuts up for a bit then right back to blowing the top out. This happens SEVERAL times before I can get to the tree, as I get closer I can hear a load splash just before he stops treeing each time.... I'm thinking he must be falling off the bank into the river.. Hmmmmm When I get to the tree my dog is treeing nice n hard like we all like then out of know where I hear SPLASH!!!!!! my dog jumps back from the tree about 15 yards stands a min and then goes back to the tree... Next I see Mr. Beaver swimmin up to the tree when SPLASH he goes again..

Now if I was in a hunt could I call interference on that Beaver and keep from minusing my dog?????

PS:

My dog didn't pay any attention to the beaver when he would splash his tail(he kept on treeing). But I'm sure if something like that did happen in a hunt someone would try to call interference just to keep from getting minus.

What would you minus him for? I can't believe he shut up for two minutes and it doesn't sound like he left the tree so what would he be minused for?
If he shut up two minutes or left, then sure he gets minused. There is no such thing as excused for interference.

You could call interference but since there isn't a rule to allow you to do that, I doubt you'd get far.

15 yards off a tree is quite a ways. IMO, it would be a hard sell to say he didn't leave the tree.

Tail slapping is obviously aggressive behavior and he is interfering with your dog so you might be able to write the beaver up.

What is a hard sell about it? IMO, giving a dog minus for "Leavin" a tree is the most overused/ abused rule in the book. All the stupid "Canopy" talk and dogs that "greet" you but go right back to treeing being minused. The objective is to tree coons and I will reward a dog for doing it, for me to award minus points for leaving the tree they have to come off a ways. I use common sense though, with my dog and someone elses.

Ok, I'll tell you. 99% of the time, a dog that is 15 yards off a tree is minused.

The thing that makes me wonder about Hobo's dog is that it doesn't sound like he left the tree. He backed up. Perhaps his focus and attention was still on the tree? If so, he "might" not get minused. A good judge would have to see it before he could say for sure.

15 yards is a long ways to be off a tree. Around here there is a good chance you could be at the tree and not even see a dog that far off, due to the brush. If he's that far off with his attention anywhere but the tree, then there is no doubt he would be minused.

John my dog never did leave the tree when the beaver would splash. I was just thinking about it on the walking back to the truck. I just figured if a dog did do what I said mine did on a hunt and someone wanted to minus the dog that the handler would argue the beaver chased it off.

Ok so I was bored. LOL
