Two numbered dogs turned into Shelter: Oxford NC

They are on the euthanasia list for 4:30 TODAY (FRIDAY, May 24th)

yes if they are numbered they were in a foxhound field trial. Check around somebody will know about the field trial and the owners can be found that way. The field trial could have been held maybe 40 or 50 miles away or even farther. They are somebodies dogs, and need to be returned.

there is a pen at oxford they could tell them who got these numbers for the trial

Do you know what numbers were on the dogs? If so, please post them so the guys who know the owners of the pen can id the owner.

It may be too late for the dogs, but perhaps you could contact the fox pen and have them notify the owner of the hounds that had those numbers. That way, at least the owner would know their fates. And it is possible that the dogs got a reprieve. and are still alive.
Perhaps the dogs somehow got out of the pen, rather than got stolen. But if the dogs were stolen, maybe the location where the dogs were picked up would give a hint as to who is to blame.
