I have personally been thinking of becoming a master of hounds for a while, but people from the Club asked me to be one. My question is,

How hard is it to actually become a Master of Hounds?

How long does it take?

How much does it cost?

I really appreciate you guy/girls reading this and would love answers to these questions and/or to talk.

It is not hard. It does take a little while. It isn't that painful.

Ain't to hard. Its open book lol. Make the club pay for it. Then you'll only have your time in it. Which will be a few long nights sitting around watching.

How do I get the test and who helps and instructs me on it??

3 club officers need to endorse you and sign the application form. You will need to apprentice under 3 MOHs and get them to sign the forms. Once that is done send the application and the 3 completed aprentice forms to UKC along with a $25 application fee.

In addition to the information that Paul gave you let me add some things that you should consider while making your decision. 1- are you able to stay calm in situations where people around you are upset, excited, irrational? 2- Are you assertive and/or self-confident without being egotistical? 3- Are you able to be absolutely impartial (there may come a time when you need to take an unpleasant action involving a close friend)?

Thanks for the things you mentioned. I agree with what you said and I myself will scratch my best friend if I a non hunting judge. I start each hunt/drop with a prayer and Ask God for safety and wisdom. I really do appreciate what each of ya'll have said. I will continue to pray and follow what I feel led to do.
