Pretty sure there were 2 nitech casts and 10 registered

Would be a good thing if I knew results! But I don't...

Tough hunting...could have drown a fish....if the hunt was most anywhere elseplus points would have been super tough to come by IMO...here in thick coon it wasnt pleasant but there were coon to tree..I've never been out here hunting...I thought we had good hunting at home...but if there are this many coon on a bad night I would love to see a good night! Seen many coon sittingup...my cast officially scored 5...

One thing that helped was the wind wasn't as bad as they called for..really wasn't windy..just soggy...today is a different story...its cold and breezy out there now...

The cast I followed scored on two and was won by a Moby X Miss Milo pup with 287.

Weather

Kept track of Weather Channel last night to see how wet my buddies were getting. At least it looked like the BIG storms from earlier in the day had settled down. Good luck to all. Take care, Ron.

Jim, I saw you there last night, if I see you today, I'll introduce myself.

Think our cast ended up with 150+ at the end of the night. I forgot to bring my water wings to get through the woods

How rough we're the woods full of water?
Hey Jim maybe it will only take 1700 plus to get in the final four now instead of 2000 plus since the weather is bad

That cast I was with had two Moby x Milo littermates in it. I've hunted with them a few times, Dwils has hunted with them several times also. Extremely action packed, very quick on both ends, and looking to get treed. Emphasis on the looking to get treed. They get some slicks, all the good ones do but the can take the corrections. The thing is that whole litter is being brought along by some of the best trainers in this area, those boys don't make many training mistakes. I expect we will be hearing more from those Moby pups.

good deal

the trackman side of that cross has that Rats sister blood in it. that will get you some "looking up".
The milo line behind them never was known for that. They were balanced from the first cross I made up until the the couple of generations from Milo that some friends of mine made to get milos momma. Randy Davis made the cross on nitro to get Milo.

I have heard great things about them boys up there. talked with them a couple of times. they were very nice and very humble.

Most of my dogs are the same. they have lots of drive and can take a scolding. They want to please their owners so much that it doesnt take much scolding to get them lined out.

thanks for the update.
Kenney said he would call me when he makes the cross again. I told him to book me one. just wanted to know what your thoughts on them were.

Didn't realize there were 2 Milo dogs....that's the only part of the name I remember for overall winner....should have taken a pic of the score card to post....I thought for sure that stuff would been old news by the time I saw it...

Ok, this isn't official but this is how I heard it. There were actually 5 Moby x Miss Milo pups in the pup hunt. The one that won the whole thing was the Moby pup from Wisconsin, don't know the guys name or the dogs name. The rest of the Final Four was a Stylish Tank pup, a Tequila Sunrise X Stylish Abilgale pup and a Mr Clean pup.

pup hunt

Hey Jim, I was in the truck in front of yours in that cast. What a nite that was, it never stopped raining. I got soaked through from the shorts up. The other three managed to fill thier boots on the last drop that was the only time those "youngsters" got to see my backside...lol All in all a real gentlemans cast, can't wait till next year.

hey tar dog...

how you like those milo dogs? saw your name on that 1st place winner.....
I started those dogs back in 1981 with a cross of a kaw river chief grand daughter bred back to a grandson of tom tom and beanblossum buck. took a female from that cross and bred to spring creek radar and then took one of those females and was bred to a direct son of houses clint. that produced the best hound I ever owned. she is still the bench mark for tree dogs and mouths down here in Miss.
they line bred some pups off of her and got Milos momma. there are dogs spread out all over now from those crosses. saw some on the walker page under bone collector pups that goes back to this line of dogs.

they were flat out awesome coondogs and still are. saw one at a hunt here local the other night who finished third in his first hunt who was triple bred on that cross and the owner said he was born a coon dog. said he was gun barrel straight from his first hunt on and there was really not much training involved. said he took him hunting with an old dog and he just went to running and treeing. I have heard countless stories from honest men I have known for over thirty years who have seen the same thing from their dogs. we have a bunch of hunters down here who have been hunting that stock for close to 20 years and wont have anything else until the pass away. that says a lot.

I am still hunting that line myself. still after over 32 years.
