We have acquired a young male 20 months old. He is the real deal. He's very independent. So far we have been to 5 trees and had 5 coons. He gets gone in a hurry gets struck and treed. Last night he ran a track for an hour and a half. Got treed with a coon. He has no reverse no stop and no come back. He isn't afraid of water. Now lets say he keeps doing great. We make him Grand night and he wins in PKC. I know this is hypothetical, but how many will breed a gyp to a dog that is mostly PR' not many Grnt ot Ntch dogs on pedigree. He does have some but not many. Just looking for opinions. Thanks.

All grand pedigrees are the standard for today's breeding. I for one will look at the performance of both parents and look and see what dogs are in the pedigree whether they are titled or not. Coon dog to coon dog will always win in my book.

I don't think it matters as much whether the dogs are titled or not. It depends on if they have a reputation of being good hunters and reproducers. Look at the Yadkin River line, seem to reproduce what them guys like and they have lots of pedigrees with open dogs. JMO

I would think it depends who your potential clients are. The guy that doesn't know anything about your bloodline, or the dogs in it, would rather have an all-grand pedigree because that shows him that these are coon hounds. To the guy that knows what they are looking for in bloodlines and abilities isn't going to care what titles the parents have, but rather how they get it done. Titles are a like a security blanket to some, and to others don't mean a single thing. So in my opinion, depends on the guy looking for a stud.

All Grand wouldent matter to me, if i knew somthing about mom and pop, and granny and grandpa ....... but im not a comp hunter

Alot changes one way or the other after he gets a few pups on the ground to back up his own performance .

I'll breed to him if he is a night champion and has at least a 100 dollars won in pkc..we have bred to three pr dogs with better results then a 300 dollar stud fee all grand..not sayen all grand ain't good just this one wasn't ..
