Night Hunt Senario

4 Dog cast. Turn hounds loose and they all open off the lead its agreed by all 4 to split the strike points. 62.5 Each

2 Dogs tree and the tree is scored. When the 2 are turned back loose what do they strike in for?

25 or 100?

25 because you took all stikes available and split them so 25 was used.

Interesting question. . The answer is they go back for next available strike position. The interesting part is that since you have two dogs carrying 62.5 strike, isn't 50 the next available?

Re: Night Hunt Senario

Always thought it was 25.....this weekend at an RQE the first judge said they strike back in for 100-75-50 (one dog still holding strike points). I still think we should have went back in for 25 in my case...my dog went in for 100 but we had to call interference when they blew down the road...2 some how didn't get hit...2 got off my permission and the lady was screaming about the cops are coming...

when you split the strike points between 4 dogs even though each dog was given 62 1/2 points, all 4 positions are taken.forget about the strike pointsn of 621/2.think of it as positions.all 4 positions were taken so the only position available would have been 25 for each dog that was recast to do the other 2 dogs.

Fred, that doesn't cover this situation if you sit down and read it through. But your next answer below that one does make sense and I think you are correct.

I was your judge and that was not how I scored the situation. Your dog went back in for 75 because the dog still out trailing was carrying 100 strike. In Pkc you strike back in for 25 no matter what unless all dogs are handled and recasted together. Our situation was totally different then the question here because we didn't have any split strikes.
