Stationary question?? UKC help

Judge puts stationary on your dog that is obviously treeing, the 5 is up and you go into your dog and he is treed in a hole. Question is does that dog get scratched or points deleted. Rule says judge must verify dog to be at a tree before it can be scratched says nothing about a hole.

Must be TREED to be scratched is my take on the rule. If at a hole, culvert, barn, junk pile, brush pile etc and not on a tree, its not a scratch unless I am completely mistaken. My advisor is in the truck or I would check it for sure

You handle the dog and score the hole.

I would think if the dog was found treed in a hole, the judge would have to order he dog handled and score the hole.

Must be a Tree

A hole is not a tree. score the hole just like you would if the handler told you he was in a hole
Do not scratch in this situation.

Dog is only scratched if it is treed at or on a tree. This always brings up the question of when is it correct for the judge to order the dog to be handled and when should the cast back away and let the dog be. I have seen dogs get stationary at a fence or a creekbank and even in the middle of a corn field on a cornstalk. I think it boils down to weather or not the dog is showing the end of a trail such as a hole or bulldoze pile or the side of a barn. Maybe i do it wrong but if there couldnt be a coon there i back the cast out and let the dog work.
