I have purchased two females in the last three years that have tested positive for Heartworms. In the future I will not buy an adult dog if the current owner cannot provide a vet record that is current with a clean bill of Health. GrNtCh Moores Hardtime Dixie tested positive for heartworms, Had tape worms and ear infection when I got her from the guy in OHIO. I Spent a lot of money getting her healthy. After 18 months of hunting getting her back in shape Dixie went on the win the Purina Race. The other female with heartworms also had a knot on her side which the seller said just came up. This is a symptom of Thyroid issues I found out. So she had heartworms and a thyroid problem.

IF YOU LIVE IN THE SOUTHERN UNITED STATES ESPECIALLY IT WOULD BE MONEY WELL SPENT ON HEARTWORM PREVENTIVE. A DOG WILL NOT PERFORM "HUNT UP TO EXPECTATIONS" IF IT HAS HEARTWORMS.

BUYERS BEWARE,IF YOU ARE PAYING A BIG PRICE FOR A HOUND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ASKING FOR A CURRENT CLEAN BILL OF HEALTH FROM A VET. A NORMAL VET VIST WITH FECAL AND HEARTWORM CHECK SHOULD RUN NO MORE THAN 60.00 AND THAT'S ON THE HIGH SIDE COMPARING WITH THE VETS I USE.
AND FOR THOSE THAT DO NOT KNOW THE VET HAS TO DRAW BLOOD TO CHECK FOR HEARTWORMS. THE GUY FROM OHIO'S RESPONSE WHEN I INFORMED HIM OF HER CONDITION SAID, I HAD A FECAL DONE WHICH IF HE HAD WOULD HAVE FOUND THE TAPE WORMS....
