Best food for pups?

Puppy chow seems to give them the runs. What is better?

If you are looking for something priced like Puppy Chow but a million times better get PMI Exclusive in the Teal Green bag for a puppy. Purple bag or Red for an adult.

Pro Plan is good food but its quite a bit more money that Puppy Chow.

PMI Exclusive is a steal.

Puppy chow makes them look good be gives them the squirts bad like you said.I feed mine diamond puppy chow which leads to half the cleanup and they still look good.If your like my you cant afford pro-plan.I dont understant why purina has to be so high i guess they dont care.

I've raised all of my puppies on Purnia Puppy Chow, never once have I seen any of my pups have the squirts.. Sure their stool is loose when you first start feeding them, but I'd be willing to bet most puppies have a loose stool when they first start eating.. I just fed my hounds and I have one puppy here right now, his stool was just as firm as the grown hounds.

Ask anyone who has seen a puppy that has come from me. They will tell you it was one of the best pups they ever saw...

Dog food is like bacon, you get what you pay for. Doesn't matter if it is for pups or adults. The primary reason of the price difference is due to the quality of ingredients. Cheap stuff is cheap stuff. It doesn't matter what you pay as the manufacturer still has a profit margin to make. If you get 50 pounds for 20 bucks, cheap ingredients and formulation still requires a profit margin to produce. Buy the best you can and know that you are addressing the pups dietary needs better than the 50 pound 20 bucks folks.

I fed my pups purina one large breed mixed with the puppy gold powder and some powdered milk in a mush when they started eating. as they got bigger left out the powdered milk, still wet it some to soften but not a mush, still included the puppy gold. after a few more months left off puppy gold and straight P1 large breed.

if you do feed the puppy chow, get the one that does NOT have the colored pieces in it. the dyes may have something to do with the diarrhea. dont know, but wouldnt feed them the colored food. there are about 3 different varieties of puppy chow. have to look closely at the bags
