Anybody ever had a hard decision on whether to breed your female or not. She is a coon dog bar-none and the stud I have chosen is a sure enough freak. She's getting a bit of age on her now and I really enjoy hunting her. She is also a good reproducer. I want to breed her but I don't if you can understand that. Same thing happened last fall and I didn't breed her.

Breed her before she's gone ! I waited so I could push her for the world hunt and lost her to a field tile ! Wish I would have bred her now !

You can't hunt a dog for the weeks she has the pups on her then gotta let the milk dry up so that's about 9-10 weeks

Turkey ridge Jake started puppy chow in a blender very early and pulled the puppies off Mississippi at 5 weeks to prepare for the $kc world hunt. He raised all ten puppies and no one ever had a prettier litter.

Most puppies will eat soaked puppy food at about 24 days old by the time they are 35 days old you can put them on semi dry food and watered down milk replacer or straight water, Cut the mothers water and food back for a day or two right when you wean the pups off and rub her belly down with vicks or bag balm, do that for 3 days .I also give mine a shot of penicillin during this time. She will be ready to hunt in a week.
If she is a good one and you have a plan for the pups, breed her. Good luck

Breed her. Have you had a chance to ho hunt with the dog your gonna breed to yet. Maybe when i come to the youth hunt we will kick a couple dogs loose.
