Serious Comp Hunters Central/East Central IN

I am looking to hunt and learn some more about the hunts. Anyone who is a serious compition hunter in Central/East Central Indiana, and is willing for someone to hunt with/tag along with to learn more. I live in Greenfield, and I am willing to drive within reasonable distance. Thanks.

The best thing to do is call UKC and get a rule book for nite hunts and read it over and over until you know every rule like the back of your hand , than just take your dog to the hunts and call him or her for what it does. Than if someone tries to cheat you in some way or another , you will know the rules inside and out and if judge makes wrong call , question it and MOH will more than likely take care of problem. The best thing to remember is you cant win them all , but have fun regardless , Win or Lose. You will meet a lot of great people in the hunts and you will meet a few not so great people in the hunts and that is usually the ones that dont last at it. Youwill win more coon hunts by being honest about what the dog really did , than not to do it honest. Just remember you have to lay down at night and if you come in off a coon hunt and cheated someone it is to hard to sleep on that. Just have fun. I live in Connersville , In and I use to run 6 nights a week to a comp coonhunt somewhere or another. Just dont get burned out on it and have fun. Get ahold of me sometime and come down and go hunting with me and bring a buddy or two and we will make it like a cast with score card and all and you will learn a lot from that.
