How far would you drive to a RQE

Was just curious how far you guys would drive to a RQE, I have the zones with in 30 miles of my house but just checked & there is not a qualifier with in 6 hrs of me. Why is it all the RQE in Iowa but 1 have been removed or taken away????????

If you live with in 30 miles of the zone in Iowa. There are 2 RQE'S within 3 hrs and 1 at 4.5hrs from you that i know of off the top of my head. IF i wanted to get my dog qualified distance doesn't matter. But if you don't plan on going to the finals in Kentucky why even bother to get qualified.

I am planning on the trip to the finals if I get through the zones. I would just like to know why ukc pulled all the RQE in my area, there use to be 3-4 of them with in 15 to 50 miles of my house now there is none.

The reason they get pulled is because of poor turnout.

Either poor turnout, club had problems or the clubs just decided they didn't want them any more.

They didnt pull out all of the RQE'S they just changed them to qualifying slams instead. Same thing only difference is you wont get a plaque if you win and you wont get that $30 gift certificate or however much it is. If you win your cast at a qualifying slam you will get your entry fee money back though. It is just a way for UKC to save a little money due to the low turnout numbers at some of the clubs.

Ten miles if I have a partner to split driving expenses!! I recently threw out three dumpster loads of cheap plastic trophys and sawdust wooden plaques. Much to my wifes delight. Wish I hac the money that was invested in them,I would take off work for a couple years and sail the seas.

They didn't replace them with Slams There are very few Qualifying mini slams none in Iowa. There were 2 clubs in Iowa that lost there RQE'S because of poor turnout.

We're in northwest Iowa. Not one of those rqe's listed are less than 3 hours away.

Jack,
Did he ever say he wasn't going to Kentucky if he made it thru zones?

I hate to disagree with you Jack but I know for a fact that Primghar is having one, as is Canton, South Dakota. I also am pretty sure that Moville, Iowa will have one in August as well. I know for a fact that UKC took away Canton's RQE. And replaced it with a qualifying slam. If you live within thirty minutes of Cherokee (where the zone will be) then all of the above clubs are more than likely within an hour or two from you. Just keep your eyes on the hunt schedule as most clubs are just now starting to get their upcoming events posted.

I never said he wasn't going that was abroad statement there are some people that just go to get qualified with no intention of going further.

And i can be in northwest Iowa in 3 hrs from Legrand so it can be done.

I think Crete Ne. is the closest one, believe it is down by Lincoln. but other wise they are all 3 hrs or more.

Isn't it amazing how people slam you on here & they don't know nothing about you. Guess 30 some yrs of compatition hunting & 45 yrs of chasing hounds, I have no clue do I colt? lol
Glad to know primgar & Canton are having the qualifying slams, & I'm sure Moville is too. Is Boone, Ia. still having a RQE?

I hauled a truck load of them trophies & plaques, except the ones for winning at AO & walker days to the dump about 3 yrs ago, all they do is collect dust.
