Sorry if this offends anyone It just doesn't impress me and don't see how it impresses anyone else.
Everyone gets excited when their pups starts going hunting and treeing. It's fine to try and start a pup with a finished hound but once they start treeing with confidence, and/or after they split tree a couple times, it's time to single them out. I personally like to start a pup by theirselves but sometimes the weather or a certain time of year can delay or make things difficult. It's hard to start a pup in the winter here because it's hard to get a pup/young dog on coons let alone good tracks. But if they got some hunt/desire to them they will go. If they can't run and tree their own coon consistently by a certain age or after so many nights, they won't stay here long.
Being excited and bragging is two different things. Getting excited is normal but bragging is useless, a good hound will speak for itself!
