Rankin's Blue Lead's parents

I'm pretty critical when it comes to a hounds looks and I've always thought Rankin's Blue Lead was one of the best looking hounds of the breed. Thought I'd share a couple of pictures of his sire and dam that probably not a lot of people have seen from a Johnny Watson ad in a 1977 Full Cry.

Great pictures

How are you doing Steve? I have never seen those pictures before and you can sure see where Lead's looks came from.

I'm diong great Phil. How 'bout you?

There's a lot of top hounds today that have ol' Lead in their pedigree.

Thanks for posting pics! I also agree with you that Lead was one of the best looking blues ever. I never hunted with him but I have heard he had outstanding ability. In the 80's, I saw an ads on Lead in coonhound bloodlines.

Rankins Lead

I agree Steve he sure was a looker. I had a male that came from Bill Ferebee's PeeDee River line from down in the Carolinas years ago that had some Lead in him. He looked like a hound and was a nice one. Died of Blasto with a first and Second that I put on him. I had owned him 1 month.
