Well, I personally like Joe, he is outspoken. But, here in Illinois, if you shoot, even in the air, you could be arrested. With that said, I have been shot at while coon hunting a few times.They are lucky I didn't shoot back.

I recently bought a pump shotgun. When I told some local young folks about it, they wanted to know if I bought the tactical version? Of course, I bought mine to hunt with but their question is a sign of the times. Back when I was their age, no one ever heard of tactical shotguns and all of the young folks hunted. Now days, few young people hunt.

With that being said, over in Viet Nam, I sometimes carried a 12 guage pump loaded with buckshot. It was a military issue.

I do have a number of hunting guns I could (and would) use in self defense. I sure don't need an AR 15.

i think your missing the point lakeland. no you don't need an ar15. you don't need a pump shotgun to hunt with, you could use a single shot or slingshot. you don't need to hunt at all. the question is do you have the right to do those things?

X2, i'm not for guns, i'm for our right to have them.FREEDOM OF CHOICE!!!
The military issued 12 gauge, was it considered tactical? could it do anything better than the standard 12 ga pump we hunt with? i deer hunted with a man and wife in the late 80's , that used ar15's and they were both very adaquate with them. at same time i hunted with a pump, a 7mm mag; some said i did'nt need for deer, and on occasion a double barrel which was laughed at because of having only 2 shots when running deer, but it was my choice, not someone elses.

Why on earth you people want to argue in circles about what guns you need or do not need to be able to hunt or defend your home and family is beyond me. It is an irrefuteable fact that the second ammendment has absolutely nothing to do with your right to hunt or defend your self from common criminals. IT IS ABOUT YOUR RIGHT TO DEFEND YOURSELF AND YOUR COUNTRY FROM THE GOVERNMENT. Period end of story, no if ands or buts about it. It is beyond ignorant to pretend that that need will never arise again. History has proven time and time again that a government big enough to provide everything you need is also big enough to take everything from
you. Read the writting on the wall before it is too late. WAKE UP! If Obama thinking he can use unmanned aircraft to kill American citizens on American soil doesn't scare the ever living hell out of you, then I am shocked. No more innocent until proven guilty now Obama thinks he gets to be judge, jury, and executioner. Pray that the day never comes you will have to protect yourself from a tyrannical government, but don't go giving up your right to do just that.
