Not lately. Seems the last 3 times I've been out my bitch treed 4 boar coons that only went 100 yards or less from when she struck. 2 last night. Now back in October & November she treed 5 times that were between 3/4 mile to 1 1/2 miles from me. Those track totals on the GPS were between 1.97 miles to 3.97 miles.

boar chases

Had a friend report track totals of almost 8 miles. This was over a two hour time period. They had ran this coon several times and had started calling him voo doo or houdini.Never seemed to finish track. My guess was he was going in the ground. Hunting place has some holes in creekbanks.

When arriving at tree, the boar coon was headed down but went back up and balled up when the light hit him. This one did not want to climb, but after several times being ran hard, his luck ran out.

One hunter had acccused the dog, which is hunted alone, of running foxes instead of coon was there to witness all the long race and had to admit it was a coon the whole time.

Another report locally was a two hour race within ten miles of this hunt.
Owner of dog said that was one of him most enjoyable hunts ever.

I had a good one.I was hunting Dixie and one of her pups, they struck about 250 yards in and ran it for probably 30 minutes and sounding good the whole time. They never left the timber i was in but they covered some ground. What makes me like it was the pup was there every step and wasnt to far behind Dixie on tree.Gotta love those locates. He was there in a smaller tree.It was a good drop.
