HELP! Garmin 320 or 220 and dc30 or dc40?

I don't know what combo to get! What is y'all's input? A 220 with a 40 or 30 or a 320 with a 30 or 40? Thanks!

We're in the same boat! Reading all of the post, just confuses me even more...Almost sounds like they have more trouble with them than not. Making this purchase has been very difficult :/

No it is a good purchase once you own one you will wonder why you ever turned a dog lose without one. I have owned the 220 and the 320. The best combo is the 320 handheld unit with the dc30 collar the dc40 collar is better as far as the charging of it but the dc30 gives you better range.

220 dc40 long range antenna on unit and collar its cheaper to own the 220 than the 320 the 320 has u spending money constantly and at ur computer constantly the 220 spend 20 dollars for map card and done every three months r so update unit and collar for free takes bout ten min no problem with range ive drove down the road and on good calm clear night ive got eight miles put collar on dog send buddy one way the other and be five six miles away and pick up both collars just fine the dc40 also has pin lock so no one else can track ur collar

i have two 320's and dc 40's and i have had good luck with them. i use the 14 inch flexible antenna from nite time supply and a 48 inch roof mount.i have tracked dogs at 6-8 miles sometimes.i have also switched the antennas on my collars to the stainless steel long range antennas from double u hound supply and i dont lose comm near as much and seem to get better range.

So what makes the 30 harder to charge than the 40?

plug slides in and touches 2 little exposed brass contacts the newer 30 has a oblonged brass contacts and does charge better than the older 30 with the little round contacts both are exposed to elements like mud and i use a toothpick to clean grooves the 40 has oblonged contacts and the charger snaps over the 40 and makes better contact remember to unsnap the clip instead of unplugging it or you will be looking for a new charging clip quick ! hope this helps the 220 works better for me but i know where i hunt i just want to know how far it is to the dogs and can i drive closer ! lol

Birds eye view

The capability of adding the birds eye view to the 320 is well worth the extra money.
