training my blue

i am going to start traing my bluetick this weekend i have had him for three weeks and im not sure what the previous owner has done with him if anything i was wondering if someone witha a little experiance could give me a few pointers on where to start with him thank you

I would put a cage coon in front of him and see want he does. That might tell u if the person did any thing with him. See if he is interested. Go from there

He goes nuts if any small animal is infront of him but I'm working on catching a live coin now so I will see how he acts when I bring it up to him but I know he is attracted to coin scent because on one of our walks in the woods behind the house he caught a scent and pulled me up to the edge of the corn field to a stump with a corn cob and coon droppings on it so I know he is atleast interested in it but should I start from scratch with a scent drag or go straight into letting him try and tree once

let him try to tree one. Take him out one night see what he does. U might be shocked.
