yep thats the only way to fix that problem jmo i dont care how good of a trainer you are you aint gonna break a mean dog as some say you might light break 1 but if they get treed aways off it will already tore into other dogs before you get there a mean dog can ruin a young dog i have a young dog right now im trying to strait out shes scared of other dogs when they treee she will tree a few barks she stay around the tree but shes scared i put her on a leash and keep her there but when the coon hits the ground she will go grab it unless you have another dog loose that has hold of the coon im thinking she has got ate up at the tree

gator

Jus my opinion. If a dogs mean, he's mean. Not right to hunt em, not right to breed em. I had a buddy had a mean dog. He said " i will jus hunt him alone." Three nights later he was huntin him alone and his nephew tried to pet him at the tree and he got 30 stitches.

i like a gritty dog but and alligator is in a class of its own it will jump on enything that comes in on like a female or a pup the only thing you will do beaten it at the tree is light breaken it best thing to do to a dog like that is to take you a 22 pistol go out to his dog house and shot him right were he has that cress in the middle of his skull he want feel nothing.

You can't change genetics or what's in their heart ... and only a fool would try.

There's alot of coondogs in the world , we all like to think only ours are special or a certain cross or bloodline will suit us ... be keep an open mind and find something with the natural qualities you like and leave the dogs with faults for others to hassle with while you have fun .

Only one cure for an alligator even if it's a heartbreaker....
