skinny/thin coon{michigan}???

notice every coon shot out lately,has almost no fat!
have they used up all there winter fat already?
a month ago they were as fat as butterball turkeys!!

anybody else noticing this?

if late jan. and feb. are cold months,they are gonna have a hard time making it

I have been seeing that with the younger coons, but older coon are still fat.

shot a big boar Sat. night, son skinned it and said it had no fat on it to speak of!! Coon are in hard times and I hope they can make it til spring without dying off!

A few but in general younger coon may still be growing going into the colder weather and can't get by as long without grubbing up something to eat . Also why they may move when the older fatter ones aren't . Haven't been working it to hard lately but got a big coon about a month ago that made me wonder why he wasn't heavier for his size .

Caught one Friday night that was fat as a late October coon. But he was a big boar. Like Larry said, the younger ones have thinned out alot.

guys on here in southern states say there coon are in rut!

I shot one last night in full rut. Gave it to some old Feller said he ate em. Thing had 5 bullet holes. Said that didn't bother him.
