Tree hounds and Trailing

I guess im among the dieing breed of hunters, but i still love the Cold struck, track and trailing it to jump and run to the tree, I never have really liked the tighter mouthed hounds like we have today. It just dosent sound right to me listening to a bumping trail or just flat out silent on track for the most part, and then tree, to each his own i guess I think the colored dogs have stayed more with that than the spotted dogs but hey every one likes to win right ?

My old buddy used to say you got to run them before you can tree them, also a "pop fly" more likely means a foul than a sure out.

Cold nosed and the brains to use it

Swing and drift check and tree, will most likely have the coon. Hot track, drive it hard and BANG!

Guess I'm a little different, I want a quick moving dog that is going somewhere when he opens. If he boo-hoos around in an area too long, I,m not going to like him and he sure isn't going to like me. And contrary to popular belief, there are a few accurate walkerdogs out there. The first and foremost thing I look for in a hound is being accurate.

I got one that has a nice nose on him he never makes it more then 50 or 75 yards and is struck if its cold he will yelp then as it gets hotter turn it over to a bawl then we he trees it he throws three deep long bawls rolls it over to a nice steady chop. Now my female she is tight but got a decent nose she treed a layup when she was 11 months bought her a steak that night
