flowing wells ???

I have a flowing artisian well, and i have been having pump trouble, when the well guy went to replace the pump he said he thought the well was dry, but the over flow is flowing so that don't quite make sensce i'm jusr curious if anyone has worked with them and has any ideas etc...the well guy is basing this on the fact that he took the pump off and no water came out the pipe, i'm trying to get a second opinion tomorrow, thanks

If you've got water flowing out of an artesian well ,you have water . Now it sounds like your pump has lost its prime from a stuck foot valve ,IMO

Here's another thought ,ok you got water Can you drop weighted string down to see if your pump/foot valve is even in water . With most places having a drought this year the water table may be way down,,if the water is lower than the valve there is no way it will pump water. And I hope your pump isn't burnt out .
