Went last night and hunted two Blue pups. Turned loose at about 7:30 pm in a pecan bottom on the Brazos River. Got struck pretty quick and the other pup joined in too. Ran the coon about 100 yards and both treed solid. Got to the tree and there was the coon. Pulled the dogs off and turned loose again. They were gone out of sight and both opened about the same time. They ran that one about the same and one treed. The other came in and treed about 15 sec later. I walked up and shined the tree and saw the coon. I shot that one out to them. It took me about 4 shots to hit it. The coon was about half dead and neither dog could kill it so I shot it again. Went to the truck and went home. Hunt over and in the house by 8:15pm. Not too shabby for two, year old puppies.

My season had started out really good. Been taking two a night and getting back to the house. I've hunted with my cousin and his young dog, but thats it. My dog had been doing really good and a few other friends decided last night we'd take our 4 dogs and head to the woods. Wouldn't you know it my little Bluetick goes in there and gets treed first. The others come in right behind him, or so we thought. We walked in there and there is my little dog I was so proud of, treed on a log that was laying across a little 15 foot wide ditch. After that he ran a track backwards to a den. The others had the coon 100 yards away. The only good thing that I came away with last night were some good laughs from my buddies and I was in bed by 9:30. And I woke up today sick as I've been for quite some time.
There just dogs, right? lol

Hunted last Friday night turned the dogs loose they struck ran a good track went over the ridge and came back treed. Went in there the dogs was split treed about 25 feet apart two dogs on one tree and the other dog on the other tree. Both trees had coons in them the first coon we found we started shooting out. Started shooting and wasn't even coming close to hitting the coon, well got to looking the scope had been knocked off. And the little bead at the end of the gun had fell out so we didn't have nothing to use lol. Finally I held about 10 inches below the coons hind end and rolled him out of there! It was a big ol boar it weighed 20 plus pounds. So we called it a night because didn't have a gun, but had a good hunt though!

Saturday night. Turned loose dogs struck and ran it like they were looking at them. Treed in a cedar. Had two up there walked one out to head high and he bailed out (dogs enjoyed). Walked them off turned loose again opposite side of holler struck short race treed. When we came in they got off tree searched and came back and treed on same tree. Tree was dead but no visible holes etc... slick/den who knows but dogs wasnt that happy with it either. Moved locations turned loose dogs struck. Young dog was first think it may have been some speed beef but fell treed about 1/2 mile in,(another cedar tree) coon was seen. Not too bad of a night.

Last Saturday night at the Black and Tan sectional hunt in Brookfield Ga a fellows dog on the first drop caught a kitten coon on the ground and brought it back to us. My dog and another dog was treed and we were about to walk to them. We heard a dog walking to us, the fellow just knew it was his dog and knew he was about to get minused, that was until we saw the coon in his mouth. The fellow said he didn't know he had a coon retriever lol!!! I bet the coon never knew what hit him lol!!

Went last night, Tuesday November 20th. I was hunting a 4 year old and a 11 month old Walker. The 10 month old has only been out 5 or 6 times.

My older dog struck from the back of the truck. I let them go. In about 3 minutes they were treed. When I got to the tree, they were split by about 20 yards. The older dog had a coon and the pup had 3 up his tree.

One of the coons jumped out and the pup got thru a goatwire fence before the older dog and led the race.

I got interrupted by a land owner, so I dont know which dog treed the jumpout first but they had the coon.

I know this isnt much for most but I was proud of the pup.

I hunted from 7pm till 2am,not the best hunt.Lil Darlin made 4 trees ,circle, 2 coons and a possum in the same oak tree, another big oak circle tree, then she jacked a track for 20 minutes and she finally had enuff...It was slick. She hasn,t been hunted much and it shows, but when hunted hard the ole girl can get with the program...THE RIGHT WAY....Walked the mile back to the truck.Cast Ragin Bo in the same woods,He got treed 800 yds,did not see a coon but he thought he had one,I would have circled this tree if on a hunt..Sent him on and he too wanted to jack a bad track,he could not handle it so I put him from there with the tritronics.Next time he barked was 8/10 of a mile and he had this coon. Also saw a nice 8 point laying 50 yards from him.Going out I saw 3 does laying 30 yards on the other side of the tree.Busted a big drove of hogs 20 or more just under 100 yards from where Bo was treeing.Saw a coon as I was leaving the WMA.I put Darlin on him and she jammed him right, not the best hunt. But I never carried the rifle the whole night...I have busted hogs the last 3 trips....MAY BE TIME TO START CARRING THE PISTOL..Not a good feeling to have lil pigs squealing under your feet.

Belly up,

I have been burning the candle at both ends. My sons and I run a trapline every Thanksgiving week, and I have been hunting every night.

To say I am tired is an understatement. Tuesday night, I took my 16 year old son's female to state land. It is deer gun season here. I cut her loose at 10:05 pm. Earlier that night I was at a local Boy Scout meeting as a merit badge conselor so I got a late start. I turned her to the northeast. She struck 4 minutes later to the south east in a swamp. She treed at 10:16 pm smack dab in the middle of the swamp. My first attempt to her the water was too deep so I circled on a ridge to get closer. She had a nice boar. Next drop she ran a 4 minute track and treed a possum. I yelled no go find a coon. She struck a track and treed in 3 minutes. It was another possum. I opened hand slapped her and said no. She left out of there, and had a coon treed in 14 minutes. By now, the fog had moved in and visibility was down to 40 feet. I called it a night.

Last night, I took an older Nt.Ch. female to a buddies to loan her for a while. I had been negelcting to hunt her pushing the younger female. She struck a track and cold trailed it. She finally picked at a tree, and rolled it over. It was slick, and we sent her on. She moved the track well and treed it about 15 minutes later. It was a nice boar. My buddy called it a night.

I drove to about 10 miles away and cut my son's Rain dog to the south in a 4 square miles section at 11:02pm. Three mintes later she opened as she circled back to the road, and moved the track north across the road into a larger section. She treed at 11:16 pm. I could hardly hear her as she was treed at the botton of a ridge. She was treed on a huge white pine. I was shocked when I caught a flash of eye about 15 feet from the top. My first shot missed, and I only had 3 shells left. The next shot brought another boar to the ground. By the time I got back to the truck it was 11:45 pm. Since I was looking at about 9 hours of running traps in the morning.

Hope this helps ya get by without any hunting.

Went Saturday night got to the spot where we was hunting put the collars on the dogs cut em loose my Fightin side dog struck red hot, we had an Insain Cain dog to and he struck, they ran a good track about 400 or so yards come treed we didnt even have pur boots on when they treed. Went in there found the coon in no time rolled it out big ol sow.

Went on out the ridge turned loose again struck red hot again Cain dog went left handed and side dog come back towards. Cain went across the ridge across a black top road came treed. We figured the side dog would tree on the ridge well we drove off the ridge and went to where Cain was treed well side was treed about 25 feet apart both had a coon rolled one out and called it a night.

So we had a pretty good night what does everyone think?
