I have a 15 month old female that i really like everything she does expect one thing. She goes hunting great by herself and is great about getting treed and seeing the coon or at least a den. But my problem is when shes with other dogs, she wants to get first tree so bad she sometimes pulls up a little to quick. Alot of people told me she is probably me 2ing but ive raised her from a baby and from the past experience I dont think thats it. She will get off to herself quite a bit and split tree and hold pressure so I think I will be able to get this out of her but the only problem is I'm not really sure what i need to do with her to get her where she doesn't want to beat the other dogs so bad to where she just pulls up to quick and not make sure it's there. Any advice would be great, thanks.

I have a young bone collector female thats the same way. Im gonna just hunt her alone for a month or two and hope she gets over it. If you have another dog that will ignore her and finish the track that might help but mine seems to suck in anything i hunt her with.

I'd hunt her herself awhile and also with other dogs... Maybe try letting the other dog go first and wait a minute then let ur female go.

i would mix her as much as possible and get on her when she locks up and send her on

Maybe you should rethink your opinion on this matter, I don't think this is all bad at all. 15 months is really still pretty young and it sounds like your female possesses all the natural ability needed to make a top hound. Your female is still young and far from a finished hound and lacks experience. Your female has a competitive drive that all hounds are not born with and can not be taught. That being said, hunt her alone "ALOT" and once in a while put her with competion to see how she is comparing. Hunting her with an extremely quick locator to much will be very bad for her confidence. Sounds like you have a great hound in the making, best of luck!
