Anyone heard of a dog getting black tongue

dont know about a dog but the deer in our area is way down the dnr said that they got black tongue and thats the reason they deer kill has been down last 2 yrs

There is some information on the web about medical conditions that can cause a dog to have a black tongue. I don't think this is the same 'black tongue' found in deer.
