I BELIEVE THE BIBLE VERSION OF THE AGE, NOT SOME THEORY OF A ROCK.
GODS WORD!!! LEAN NOT ON YOU OWN UNDERSTANDING

Well i say my belief is Gods time and mans time is 2 totally different times. Gods time is Forever ,while mans time on this Earth is just a blink of an eye in Gods Time , We should make the most of whats allowed us as we walk on His creation ,IMHO

The oldest such minerals analyzed to date – small crystals of zircon from the Jack Hills of Western Australia – are at least 4.404 billion years old.[5][6][7] Comparing the mass and luminosity of the Sun to the multitudes of other stars, it appears that the solar system cannot be much older than those rocks. Ca-Al-rich inclusions (inclusions rich in calcium and aluminium) – the oldest known solid constituents within meteorites that are formed within the solar system – are 4.567 billion years old,[8][9] giving an age for the solar system and an upper limit for the age of Earth.

It is hypothesised that the accretion of Earth began soon after the formation of the Ca-Al-rich inclusions and the meteorites. Because the exact accretion time of Earth is not yet known, and the predictions from different accretion models range from a few millions up to about 100 million years, the exact age of Earth is difficult to determine. It is also difficult to determine the exact age of the oldest rocks on Earth, exposed at the surface, as they are aggregates of minerals of possibly different ages.lol lol

I was Hunting Antelope in Wy. once .. The Party I was hunting with Droped me off so I could make a Long Stalk on a Herd .. Well I knocked down a nice Antelope and where it fell was close to a small bolder that made a seat, After i gutted my Antelope I sat there on that bolder waiting for the return of the Truck .. I happened to look stright down between my legs was a pile of Flint Nappings and a Broken Arrow Head ..

It was nice to see the Work of a Very old Indian was still in the same spot and had never been disturbed I looked the Head over and put it right back in the same spot..

You know Im not going to knock for their beliefs but i've never met anyone in person who believed the earth is 6000 years old. And I went to a bible college. Could some of you explain yourselves a little further? Im a christian, so dont take this the wrong way but how do you account for carbon dating and the continental drift? Or how we have stars thousands and thousands of light years away? It even takes hundreds of years for us to see a star has burned out. I know God was our creator and to me thats all that matters.

Does anyone hold to the fact that a believing in a young earth in necessary for salvation thorugh Jesus Christ?

I'm not trying to knock on there belief in god or a god or whatever. The sole purpose of the bible though is to give people a moral outline of how to act and what is right and what is wrong. There is very little if any historical fact in that book it's merely a bunch of moral stories.
