Call Garmin 1-800-800-1020 , tell them the problem, they will give you an RMA number (Return Material Authorization). You send it back at your cost and pay them $90 and they will send you a "refurbished" collar. (My collar looked totally new). They come with a warranty, but I don't remember how long? It will take 12-14 days from when they recieve your collar.
