I've got a 3225. Has a much better range than the TriTronics, has lasted longer than any TriTronics I've ever had (and I've had several).
TT blown smooth out of the water as far as I'm concerned.

This prolly doesn't help but I brought a deer chase to a dead stop last night at .87 miles with my Alpha. I fault myself for ever letting it go that far.

Sport dog 3225 by far

Early this yr sold all my Tri Tronics collars and went to the Sports dog system. It is less than 4 months old. I love the size of it.

It is half the size of Tri Tronics, the range is almost double and the collars hold charge longer. The Sports dog system has more options, you have a choice of vibrate or tone, about the vibrate tone option, it will only do one or the other, I thought I had the choice of both, not the case. Sports dog also has has 18 levels of stimulation. It is a far better system.

If you are interested in one, I may be willing to sell you mine, not because I am disappointed in it, but I am leaning toward the Garmin Alpha so you may be interested in saving a little rather than buying a totally new system. However I probably would want to sell it all together and that may be more than you need. I have 4 collars on 2 bottons, it will expand up to 6 collars total. But 4 is all I have red, orange, blue and yellow.

Most of the time I carry mine around my neck like a necklace or in the shirt pocket it isn't much bigger than a pack of smokes and about the same weight.

Some folks have to have the latest and greatest guess am one of them. I really thought that the Alpa wouldn't be out till next yr but I got fooled and I had the cash in hand at the time so I pulled the trigger on the Sportsdog system and have been very pleased.

I also have a 320 and 4 collars as well that need to go if the shocking unit goes so might fix you right with whole shabang.?

Probably a little more than you want or need but as far as systems go but my adivce is Sportdog is the only way to go.

P.S. My TT wasn't the trashbreaker so it may not have twice the range but it did have 2x the range of the TT system I had.

I too sold a Tri-Tronics Trashbreaker and Classic in favor of the Sportdog 3225.

The recent model Tri-Tronics just doesn't have the range or reliability they used to have in the earlier models.

I have been a fan of TT for years. After my hunting partner purchased the sportdog and I had a chance to actually put my hands on it, Two weeks later I had one. That being said, I will not say anything negative about TT. I will tell you that with sportdog, when you purchase extra collars, the charger comes with them. Not the case with TT, You have to buy extra chargers. The thing that sold me on the sportdog was the weight of the collars in comparison with TT, big difference. Also the sport dog collars seem to hold a charge alot longer. Hope this helps. Oh yeh, the strap for the sportdog transmitter has saved me alot of money in terms of loosing it.

I started to post about the Alpha in this thread a few days ago but didn't want it to turn into another Alpha thread.

It is the best training unit I have ever used. Blows any other TT or Sportdog unit away.

I used TT for alot of years training bird dogs. Love them! But for hounds, I think I like the Sport Dog much better. TT is great for a dog I can see. I can reach most anything I can hear with my 3225. Not always the case with TT.
