It would seem to me that a hunter of any kind, trapper and outdoorsmen of any kind would be highly aginst the reinterduction to the wolf. Just seems stupid to me.
I am sorry for those houndsmen who have lost dogs to the wolf, isn't a dog considered livestock? If it isn't and I am sure it isn't because the dog is known as mans best friend, that should rate higher than livestock shouldn't it. I mean alot of the dogs I hunt I rate higher than alot of people I run into there are alot of idiots in this world and it would seems from the sound of the posts most of those idiots work for the DNR up north.
Do not know about Mi, but in Wi the last I knew the population estimate was 850, so that means 1200. They have been delisted a few times only to have the tree huggers find a judge and get it reversed. Last year they were delisted again and in October there is a hunt. When 201 wolves are killed out of the 2000 permits issued, the season will be closed, They can be harvested from bait, trapping, just shot and up until the Humane Society found another judge, put a stop to hunt with dogs. The dog owners are rembursed her in Wi. when bear or bird hunting, but it is something that you never want to see your dog look like, when the wolves are done with them. Not only do they kill them they eat the dogs.
Would imagine that you would have to find a single wolf track to run with dogs !!!
Hope that answered your ?"s. If you have any more, I will try and answer them.
