Mine would have to be GR.NT.CH. FLATRIDGE WILDMAN for the males and for the females it would have to be GR.NT.CH. BLOWERS REDWOOD JOSIE. These two hounds are full litter mates. Also Dual Grand PineRidge Lester.

Wayne Allen

Wayne had the nicest Plotts I have seen. He had four bad to the bone Plott females. His original Star female then, Star 2, 3 ,and 4.
The first Star ans then Four were my favorites. But brother you could close your eyes and pick any one of them out of the dog lot and you had something on the end of your chain! They were all Grand Nites and all Coondog. Wayne was as good as they come too. I could have fed one of them! They were all awesome tree dogs! If I were a Plott man that is what I would be hunting. Something off that line. They were nice.

The best all around Plott, that I ever hunted are hunted agains't was!!!

Overbeck's Eric Plott. He was a very hard & wide hunter, not afraid of the dark, when hunted by himself, & could run a track as some say, Walker style. He had a high tenor short bawl mouth on track, & could get treed quick & have the meat. I hunted Eric for Elwood, for a couple of years, but he would never let me put him in a Hunt. This was in the early 60's. Some other good Plott's that I've hunted with was, the first UKC World Nt. Ch. Overbeck's Big Lucky, Brandenburger's Drum, Nt. Ch. Wittenborn's Black Lucky, & I forget their names, but Everett Weem's had a couple of real nice Plott Hound's also. I sold my Black Lucky dog to Dale Brandenburger in 63, & I was told that he placed Third in the World Hunt in 63 or 64????

Had a coon the majority of the time. Never bred much. About 10 yrs old now. About as straight as a dog gets. Go huntin'. Good hound reguardless of color.

Stomey

I had a male out of Dall Brandenburgers dog if I remember right it was out of Echo or Slim cant remember which but he was doing his own thing at 5 months old and lots of people came down to hunt with this young dog I had at two years old he got hit by a car while hunting and I quit coonhunting until about 12 years old.
I said I'd never buy another Plott because the memories where so pleasant and painful at the same time so I went to Bluetick because my Grandfather owned blues.
Ole Stormy could tree a coon during the day as well as at night didn't matter. and he would not run anything else. I have a picture of him at home I might try to scan it and put it on this subject. I've got a deep love for Plotts

Fancy was raised and trained by Rex Ledbetter and sold to Robbie after winning High Scoring Plott at AKC World Hunt. She was outstanding, she could tree coons when no other dog could. Rex and her have made a many a "Big Name" dog look like pups. She was one of the top dogs I have ever hunted with of any color! I do know she won alot, but not sure what. I think she was off of Leaf River Jap. Anyway I hunted her on Thursday and she treed three coons two by herself and died the following Tuesday. I buried her under the big oak she treed on for the last time.

Steve, I know this thread is killin' ya so I'll make the post that you are wanting to, lol. Fielder's old dog Bear Pen Plotts Bronco was a Plott that would get treed, under a coon, somewhere, nine times out of ten. He was a coondog.

I can think of a few, Garrison's Ranger, My old Deacon Dog, Morgan's Bayou Jake.
All these were coon dogs in any man's book. Ranger is probably the most consistant reproducer I have seen.

That was what got me hooked on plotts. I had a direct son out of Howell's Bayou Shorty in the late 70's as a child. The first night out at about 7 or 9 months old he split treed by himself away fro the other dogs and he had the coon. Ever since then I am not comfortable with anything but a plott. I tried others but no luck.
