Oakwood's Kennel was started years ago by Mr. Jim Chaffins in northeast IN, thanks to his hunting, culling, breeding, etc many others have benefited and now you see Oakwood's dogs here and there all over the country. Most have reproduced and/or improved bloodlines for other hunter breeding program. There are several others that helped Jim when he began pooling blood from different dogs, centered around NtCh Chigger Hill Golden Sonny. I do not want to name names because I for sure would leave someone out! I will say Shane Cannon and I got into it directly through Jim, been at it nearly 20yrs now. Sunkist was just one of the few that reproduced well out of this culmination of blood. Dollar's mother was a female off GrNtCh Hardwood's Uncle Sam, Sam was directly out of old Sonny. Dollar was triple Sonny bred. Sunkist's mother was out of GrNtCh Woodstock Red Man and a half sister to GrNtCh Hardtime Rocky. Sunkist was in the top ten reproducers list and head the #1 spot on and off for years.
Here is a pic of Sunkist treed with an IN raccoon.
