lost cause?

I've been coon huntin for a long time now but I've always hunted with experienced dogs. My brother got a redtick pup to start and have for his own, but didn't get her in the woods enough. Long story short, she's with me now in the mountains of southwest, va. When you give her a trapped coon she acts like an old dog who's been doin it her whole life. Same thing when you turn it out, she runs it and knows what to do. But when she gets to the tree, she either doesn't bark or gets bored with it. She's a beautiful dog and id hate to see her go to waste. But with her being 2 years old, is she a lost cause?

Not to late

Don't matter if they are 2 or 10 they are never to late to start. Just treat her like a pup for the next month or two. Lots of pups struggke figuring out how to end a track. Work her on a cage coon in a tree once or twice then go back to turn out coon and hunting her. Give her lots of encouragement at the tree and do everything you can to get her treeing good. Don't know if you can or not due to kilm seasons, but knocking a coon or two out to her sure wouldn't hurt. Another tip is wet the coon down before you turn it loose. A wet coon leaves a lot more scent on the ground and on the tree. Good Luck!
