How many pups is too many?

I got a cur dog having pups right now. She's had 12 so far. How many pups is too many to you all? Do most of you just let the dog try and raise them all and see how she does? Do you thin them out to a more reasonable number? What's your opinion?

How many is too many? If the gyp has 8 nipples that are milking that's all the pups I would care to have. Just me!

i've had dogs that have had an even dozen and raised em all fat and healthy . but if you don't have them in a good whelping box she'll probably lay on a few of them for ya . the more pups they have the more you need to supplement the gyp get some calcium tablets and i allways add some of the milk replacer to the gyp's feed .when the pups are 3 weeks old start making a thin mixture of milk replacer and puppy food . soak the feed till it's mushy then add warm milk replacer and mash it up good . i do this starting at 3 weeks of age the sooner the pups start filling up on the feed the better for the gyp . good luck with your pups and you shouldn't have to cull any except for any genetic defects you might notice .

I let nature take its course.. If they all live fine.. I hate loosing any pup and I'm for sure not going to cull one if its nice and healthy when its born.

One of my females had 13 once and raised 12 of them. There is no such thing as tooooo many pups as far as them nursning and the female making milk for them.
